Lemon Shark was the enlightenment of my debate career, by Ariel Zheng

“I came to Lemonshark’s debate camp by chance last summer. At that time, I had just come in contact with the Public Forum debate and NSDA, and I knew nothing about it. Lemon Shark was the enlightenment in my debate career, from rules to skills, and where to start when writing cases and blocks.
After that, I signed up for the tournament in a daze, not realizing it was a national tournament. I was frustrated when I didn’t break because I thought I was well prepared at that time. With a bad start in my debate career, I worked harder. Tony and Lemonshark were extremely helpful during that period, answering my questions and helping me interpret the resolution.
I had many tournaments since then, knowing the importance of prepping and more techniques, I started to broke and got champion for one of the regionals.
I even met Tony in one of my high school division tournaments, I was panicking and was very nervous at first, but it is inevitable to meet with good debaters, so I would rather take it as an opportunity to learn.
From barely breaking to getting champions in the high school division, there were times when I was frustrated and there were times when I tried very hard, but the debate is all about losing, learning, and winning it back.
Again a big thank you to Lemonshark for helping me gain my confidence and for being helpful throughout my debates.”
